- Today, you'll be writing two opinion editorial (op-ed) - style responses to two topics/questions we have been investigating this week:
- Media celebrity activism: Is it altruism or self-promotion?
- Is privacy dead?
- These writing samples will be peer-edited; use your writing codes, not your names.

Blk. G - 30 min. for course selection
Blk. E- 25 min. for crossword completion, privacy paragraph completion or celebrity research sheet completion.
- Complete the back of the privacy worksheet (3 thesis statements).

Tues. Feb. 18: Media Celebrity Activism: Is It Altruism or Self-Promotion?
In the classroom: complete the reading preferences survey and then complete the online survey in the computer lab.
Complete these two tasks in the computer lab:
- **Visit Look to the Stars and complete the celebrity information chart (page 8) for any five people.
- **Review the media representation piece from the United Nations Refugee Agency. Write point form responses on the deconstructing media handout (page 9)
Mon. Feb. 17, 2014 - Complete student information form (3 marks)
- 25 minutes for self-directed silent reading or work on the student Fraud Crossword using the RCMP Student Fraud Guide.
- Personal privacy grid activity: Compare your grid with several other students and write a paragraph about your own views on personal information privacy.
