- Discuss:  Media Celebrity Activism: Altruism or Self-Promotion?
- 30 min. for rough copy paragraph, privacy sheet, and crossword completion
- Meet author Paulo Coelho. As you read his novel and learn more about him, decide whether he fits into the category of celebrity.
- Read to the introduction (complete ques. 1-4) and read the prologue (take notes).
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is reported to be the fifth most read book in the world. It holds the Guiness Book World Record for the most translated book by a living author (71 languages). Source 10 Most Read Books in the World.
 

Mon. Feb. 25 - Tues. Feb. 26: Media, Celebrity and Global Activism

In the classroom: complete the reading preferences survey  and then complete the online survey in the computer lab.

Complete these two tasks in the computer lab:
  1. **Visit Look to the Stars and complete the celebrity information chart (page 8) for any five people.
  2.  **Review the media representation piece from the United Nations Refugee Agency. Write point form responses on the deconstructing media handout (page 9)
