Fri. Sept. 17/10 - Media Awareness / Essay Revision and Completion

The K Library computer lab is booked for this class. Complete the good copy of your five paragraph essay.
When finished, you can find the documentary Militainment, Inc. online. Or, look for another documentary on a topic of interest to you. Consult the documentary database.

Thurs. Sept. 16/10 - Media Awareness / Essay Revision and Completion

We'll review the topic of militainment from yesterday's class and learn about the new media power of the WikiLeaks organization and website.
Peer edited essays will be returned for revision and completion. These will be typed in the lab on Friday.


Wed. Sept. 15/10 - Media Awareness / Peer Editing

Today, we'll review the purpose of peer editing and practice editing first draft essays / paragraphs from other classes.



We will view this investigative report about the connections between the media and the military.

Tues. Sept. 14/10 - Media Awareness

- students should bring a book for silent reading at the start of class.
- bring your 5 paragraph essay outline that you completed in class yesterday.

Mon. Sept. 13/10 - Media Awareness

- Today, we'll consider a couple of recent editorials on the Wi-Fi in schools news coverage. This story was investigated on CBC's The National on Sept. 8/10.
- We'll review the five paragraph essay outline, introductory paragraph and thesis development.
