Feb. 20 - 23: Media Studies

Thurs. Feb. 23
The lab is booked.
-Go to Socrative.com. Using your last and first names, sign-in to room 52231. Complete the 10 mark quiz on it's/its/you're/your.
- Then, type your two best media topic paragraphs. Include your full name and block on the papers. Staple the good copies to your rough copies and peer editing sheet.
- Enjoy Rick Mercer's rant against the proposed online spying bill C-30 (formerly C-51)





Tues. Feb. 21- Wed. Feb. 22: Media, Celebrity and Global Activism

In the classroom: complete the reading preferences survey in class and then complete the online survey in the computer lab.

Complete these two tasks in the computer lab:
  1.  **Review the media representation piece from the United Nations Refugee Agency. Write point form responses on the deconstructing media handout.
  2.   **Visit Look to the Stars and complete the celebrity information chart for any five people.
**Both tasks due as homework for Wed., Feb. 22 class.

Mon. Feb. 20

- 20 min. of silent reading or online fraud crossword puzzle completion. Use the booklet.
- Peer Editing - Today, we'll review the purpose of peer editing and practice editing first draft paragraphs from other classes.
