- complete your reading preferences sheet paragraphs and charts (16 marks). DUE Wed. Oct. 16.
- Finish the synthesis essay, vocabulary definitions, and four rough copy paragraphs for peer editing.
- Silent reading: Finish The Alchemist.


Thurs. Oct. 10, 2013
- We are attending a presentation in the JP gym this morning during our class time. Remember to complete the vocabulary definitions on the article handed out yesterday. There will be a 12 mark vocabulary quiz on Tues. Oct. 15.

Wed. Oct. 9, 2013
- finish writing the in-class synthesis essay (24)
- finish writing the four rough copy paragraphs for the peer editing assignment  (20). 
Topics may be completed in any order (DUE Wed. Oct. 9):
1.  The importance of personal dreams / goals.
2.   Surviving defeat / disappointment.
3.  Setting, plot or character: Which is most important in a story? Why?
4.  "To realize one's Personal Legend is a person's only real obligation" (Coelho 22). Do you agree or disagree? Why?
