- 25 minutes for synthesis essay work, reading preferences sheet completion, or novel reading.
- Read: "The Sound of Hollyhocks" by Hugh Garner on p. 7 of Tigers of the Snow.
- Discuss the story questions. Then, be ready at the start of tomorrow's class to write the open-book quiz.
