Fri. Sept. 6
- Avoiding Plagiarism DVD
- Continue work on the annotated bibliography assignment.
- Old media focus: Travel media - Write two more annotated bibliography entries for travel media guides available in the classroom.
- See a sample annotated bibliography.

Thurs. Sept. 5
- 20 min. silent reading OR complete your paragraph from yesterday (DUE Today)
- Discuss MLA annotated bibliography format. Review the annotated bibliography assignment.
- Old media focus: Travel media - Write annotated bibliography entries for one sample of travel media.
- See a sample annotated bibliography.


Wed. Sept. 4
- 20 min. silent reading
- Review transition words and phrases.
 - Review formal and informal writing style comparison notes. Underline the seven most important characteristics of each and create a Venn diagram outline in preparation for a paragraph that contrasts formal and informal writing styles (point of view; subject; tone; structure; thesis placement; vocabulary; purpose).
- Start writing an informal paragraph that reflects on summer activities experienced by you and / or your classmates (10 marks). See "summer bingo" writing assignment.


Tues. Sept. 3 - Welcome to English 11.
Today we will review the course outline and expectations.
